HOPE/ESPERANZA 2025

Sacrofano, Rome. There are around 300 sisters joining the Hope/Esperanza gathering. It’s incredible to see such a diverse group, with sisters under 65 representing all six continents – 190 are attending in person, and the rest are connecting with us online. At HOPE 2025, this global sisterhood is coming together to explore our lives, our future, and the unique gifts we each bring. We are uniting in hope as we listen, dream, and develop our capacity as leaders. We have 17 Dominican sisters attending in person and another 23 joining us online.
Our sister Mila Diaz, OP from Springfield, offered a powerful and inspiring homily during our opening liturgy, and Sister Xiomara Méndez Hernandez, OP from Adrian, is serving as one of our facilitators. The event is set to conclude on Saturday night.
Under the topics of: Connecting – Lamenting – Celebrating – Leading, The Leadership Collaborative, who convened this gathering, shared the belief that: “Religious life today is a global witness to the transformative power of relationships. Following the mission of Jesus, we endeavor to cultivate authentic relationships of inclusivity and trust. We seek meaning and understanding. We hold space for what is essential and what is emerging. We are all collaborative leaders, creating our future together.”
Let’s join the sisters with our prayers as they renew their vocations and spirit!
Blessings,
DSC
